Mavericks ink Kidd to three-year NBA deal

DALLAS, Texas – All-Star point guard Jason Kidd signed a three-year National Basketball Association contract worth more than 25 million dollars on Saturday to remain with the Dallas Mavericks.

The Mavericks announced the deal that could assure Kidd, 37, finishes his NBA career with the same club where he began in the league as the second selection in the 1994 NBA Draft.

Kidd rejoined the Mavericks last year after a stellar career with New Jersey, leading the Nets to the NBA Finals twice.

Kidd has averages of 13.8 points, 6.7 rebounds and 9.2 assists over 15 NBA campaigns. He ranks third on the NBA all-time assists list with 10,199.
